"The Final Countdown" is not based on a true story but some bits of history are thrown in to make it believable and cohesive. For it's day, it was outstanding photography and special effects! Very enjoyable to watch and the story line was quite unusual when it was first released. A definate "must-see" film (even now!). This particular version is from 2003 and is formatted on a North American DVD. Parents should review the film prior to allowing school age children to view it (personally, I didn't see a major problem). Highly recommended. Please note that this review is written with no knowledge as to the seller's identity. The Final Countdown
This movie is casted well with excellent performances by the entire cast with a good storyline I have watched this movie multible time and it never fails to keep me on the edge of my seat with suspense. The movie is filmed well and poses question the what if this really happened would World War2 not have happened?

One of the best action movies I have seen, with a great cast of actors. The stort line is a bit different and makes you really think about the ending. Well worth watching, and I can't believe it wasn't a bigger hit.

We had watched this about 25 years ago and enjoyed it then and decided to try it again. Good movie just be careful who you buy it from!
