    Decent radio

    For an older model radio, not bad. Good sensitivity, but does overload some with a long wire. This is remedied by setting the sensitivity switch from DX to LOCAL. SSB works really well, and I like that the BFO wheel has an indent at midpoint which makes fine tuning faster and easier. Has a cheap, plastic feel and appearance but still seems to be built to last. With so many other choices on the market for SW radios, I wouldn't recommend this one unless your budget is limited to around $30. But as far as I can tell, when it comes to basic SW listening ATS-505 can pretty much do what the more expensive models such as the Tecsun and Grundig brands can do.

    I Like It !

    I like my Sangean ATS-505 very much. For such a small radio it packs alot of features in its price range. It has very good frequency reception in all bands; good speaker quality; easy to use controls and buttons and excellent battery life.

    Great Radio

    Had a Sangean 505 that I dropped on a concrete floor. This is the same radio with a different name. It's an outstanding piece of equipment.

    Much better than grundig or sony for the money.

    Great audio,large display,very good reception on AM,FM,SSB.Thick enough to stand up on its own with out the need for a larger space to lay it down on the kick stand,but still portable.Comes with power supply unlike sony 7600gr better audio than sony or 'GRUNDIG'. Also it is much cheaper than grundig or sony equvlents.I like it better!!!
