    History of the founding of our nation's First Ladies.

    We gave this book to our granddaughter who is very interested in history, the founding fathers and their wives. I'm sure she will enjoy it. Cokie Roberts writes well. She holds your interest.

    Well researched and informative.

    Very well researched and written. I learned countless facts and informative tidbits about the great ladies of the revolution including the daily responsibilities of a woman of the day. Roberts covers more than the usual characters, Mrs. Franklin, Washingon & Adams, but she covers many others that I was unaware of. My bookclub had a wonderful discussion about these women and the example they set for modern day women. I would recommend this book.

    No Founding Fathers without Founding Mothers First

    Excellent book. The women behind the men ..... great as supplement to history class about America's Women. Author has other great titles.

    An easy to read but very informative book about the women who contributed so much to the founding of our nation. A fresh look at the political, social and economic dynamics of that time which gives newfound respect and admiration for the many women who risked so much and suffered so much and achieved so much....at a time when history was truly HISstory and not hers.
