This is an historic reconstruction of one of the best Gershwin musicals, which was long known only for The MGM movie version, which is good but palesmincomparison to the full score with the original theatrical orchestrations. All of the vocal performances are by top notch artists and are kept in character. The generous booklet answers any questions one might have about why this musical was important and how this restoration of the score was accomplished.
