The fixture's dimensions in the seller's product description did not match the actual product. The product was two inches shorter than described -- shorter than a ceiling cutout it had to cover. The fixture was shipped is its retail display box, which was far too flimsy to withstand handling along the way. Both ends of the box were frayed and open when it arrived. I returned the item, and payment was refunded.

It Conserves Power
I highly recommend this product. Had one for at least 10 years, and ithe surge suppressor and the remote stil work perfectly - the new one's a backup. There are so many devices that never fully shut off when plugged in; plugging this in upstream of them to a switched outlet will completely turn them off. Keep in mind that some devices have to be reprogrammed if they lose power; I sometimes attach those to a UPS if the setup is non-trivial. There are 6 swiched outlets and 2 "always on" outlets. The batteries are not a common size (23A 12V) but are readily available and inexpensive.I highly recommend this product. I have the power!!!!
I haven't seen any other product like this. Im sure there is probably others but im a fan of belkin anyway! The reason I bought this was to take back control of my sons TV at night. When I would go to bed at night he would get back up afterwards and turn the TV and his gaming station back on. Well not anymore! At bed time his TV magically shuts off and doesn't come back on till I decide!!!!! I love that I dont have to be anywhere near his devices to turn them off. Now when im lying in bed and it turns 10 o'clock I hit the remote and am able to sleep soundly knowing he is sleeping also instead of playing video games:-).I haven't seen any other product like this.
