About this product

Product Information

Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the masterminds behind SOUTH PARK, turn their attention to marionettes and politics in the riotous spoof TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE. Combining the puppetry of the mid-1960s series THUNDERBIRDS with action/disaster flicks produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (TOP GUN, ARMAGEDDON, PEARL HARBOR), Parker and Stone tell the story of a small group of heroic figures who span the globe protecting democracy and freedom against terrorism. Along the way, they destroy such famous international landmarks as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Sphinx in Egypt, and the Panama Canal. All the while they are developing close relationships that lead to love, jealousy, and betrayal. Their primary mission is to stop North Korean leader Kim Jong Il's peace conference, which is a ruse to allow him to attack the rest of the world with his weapons of mass destruction. Team America must also take on F.A.G., the Film Actors Guild, which is supporting the peace conference, including such participants as Alec Baldwin, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, George Clooney, and other actors who have spoken out against the war in Iraq (but did not agree to be spoofed in the film). Parker and Stone reserve a special message for FAHRENHEIT 9/11 director Michael Moore, and even former UN weapons inspector Hans Blix shows up. Among the very funny--and very dirty--songs in the film are "Everyone Has AIDS" (from the Broadway musical LEASE), "Only a Woman" (about homosexuality), and "I'm So Ronery" (Kim Jong Il's soaring solo). Despite having no actual humans in it, the movie earns its R rating with lots of blood, very adult language, and a steamy puppet sex scene.

    HYSTERICAL !!!!!!!!!!

MUPPET SEX SCENE ! Need I say more ?!?!?! I almost spit out my drink when I saw that........ Could not stop laughing ! I love this movie. Matt Stone and Trey Parker are GENIUSES !!!!!! My wife doesn't get it, but she has NO sense of humor and watches HORRIBLE TV shows - Grey's F***ING Anatomy, etc...... :-0 Just get the movie.

  • My gut hurts from laughing

If you're looking for highbrow cork-sniffing humor, just hit the back button right now. If coarse language offends you even in the slightest, then forget you ever heard about this movie and look for something with little kids and unicorns or flying ponies in it. This is a send up of Saturday morning action cartoons and also a great spoof of the entire Action Film genre. It is done by the same guys who do South Park as well as the SP movie so if you're into that, you'll crap yourself laughing. The puppet-sex scene is so funny you'll probably be like me and have to pause it so you can catch your breath from laughing so hard. Boy, those puppets are really enthusiastic!!! I didn't expect this move to be this funny, but everything from the story line to the way things are filmed, sometimes WAY ...

  • Either love it or hate it

From the geniuses that bring us South Park comes 'Team America:World Police', one of the most hilarious (and unusual) films I've watched recently. Visually, I'd be lying if I said 'Team America' was excellent, it isn't. It looks like a cross between thunderbirds and a crazy puppetfest. But for 'Team America' we can cast it aside because that's what makes it funny - we can laugh at all the poor movements of the characters that thunderbirds was known for. You can't really describe the humour in 'Team America' very well. It's one of those comedies which you might find sends you un fits of laughter when you're not even sure why. The thing that stops 'Team America' from being higher rated is that it's deifnately for everybody. There will be some people who hate it just because they think it ...

  • Buy. Watch. Laugh. Team America is Hilarious

If you've read any of my reviews before, you probably know that I am proponent of collecting DVDs that will get reuse - for that reason comedy's tend to play a key role in my collection because, for some reason, I get good usage out of comedies (perhaps because I don't need to watch from start to finish each time?). Team America is a definitely collection adder because it has great re-watch-ability - in fact, its funnier the 2nd and 3rd time around. Team America was created and written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone - now I've never been a Southpark fan, but this is fantastically funny stuff. Parker and Stone leave nothing unturned (pardon the pun) - whether its celebrities, politicians, religion, current events, etc - they poke fun at it. And usually in a hysterical, ...

  • "MAATT DAAMMON!"

It’s been about five years since SOUTH PARK: BIGGER, LONGER & UNCUT, audiences were delighted and offended at the envelope-pushing raunchiness from creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. But the one question on everybody’s mind is this: “How are they going to top that film?” The response was a full-blown politically incorrect satire about marionettes and politics called TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE. Inspired by the mid-1960s series THUNDERBIRDS and the overblown action/disaster flicks of Jerry Bruckheimer, the movie focuses on a group of clueless heroic figures spanning the globe protecting democracy and freedom against terrorism. Along the way, they unwittingly destroy such famous international landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Sphinx in Egypt, and the Panama Canal. Following ...
