    Great For Homeschool

    I'm an artist and have taught 7-8 grade art, but wasn't sure how to approach 1st grade for my granddaughter. This is a great book that builds a foundation of understanding the basics of art at an appropriate age level!

    Best elementary art curriculum!

    I am overjoyed to find such a great book on teaching the basic elements of art to elementary children. As a 5th grade teacher turn homeschool mom, I do extensive research before buying curriculum. This book received high praises and was recommended from several sources. I just received the book and after looking through the lessons, I know that my children will be excited about learning and have fun at the same time. There are multiple projects for each element of art and I intend to have my first grader, kindergartener, and my three year old all participate. It can be modified for the young child and also be excellent for older elementary students. I can't wait to start our art classes! Teacher/Mom in Arizona

    How to Teach Art to Children

    The format looks easy to follow. There is a list of needed items for each project. A brief biography of the artist and their work is included. There are related literature resources listed for some projects so it will be easy to cross reference as I teach. It is simple and precise. A wonderful tool for my homeschooling children of 2nd and 5th grades, will be easy to teach at multiple grade levels and will even be useful in my work as a Pre-K teacher. I love this book and can't wait to get started. The possibilities are endless!

    Perfect for un-artsy teachers!

    It has been years since I studied the formal aspects of art. It has never been a strong subject of mine and I don't even enjoy crafty art! However, I knew I wanted to teach my children art based on the examples of the masters so that art appreciation and hands on art could meld. This book does that very well. I have not yet used it, but it looks exactly like what I wanted. I think art this year will be a lot of fun for all of us.
