    Sony handyman DCR-DVD 306E the memory maker

    It is small for what it can do, the reproduction of videos and stills are good. I got it for holidays were you don't want a big arm full of camera to lug about. You just want something small that will fit in your hand, light in weight and will give you good reproduction of what you are enjoying ,so you can reflect on it when you get home . I have gallery on my PC and each time we have a holiday I always make account of it in gallery. I put time and date on each folder and love going through them from time to time and it is important to get a camera which is as good as this to create memories.

    Auto Shooting

    THe camera is lightweight and the picture quality is surprisingly good though a little grainy at some edges. The max. time on mini DVDs is 60 minutes or thirty minutes but this is not a big problem. I do not know if you have to finalise video footage but if you buy RW discs you can reformat them (blank for re-use). Do not buy +RWmini but -RWmini instead as the camera returns "cannot do" for the +RW's. And once filmed the footage transfers beautifully on to the computer in the special countersunk mini disc holder in the cd drawer. Make sure your computer has a CD/DVD drive and one with an 8cm holder in the middle for the smaller mini discs. Colour quality is excellent.

    A blast from the past

    Although it's a bit out dated still a good piece of technology, easy to use and cheap. Not up to today's expectations for performance but fun to use. Recommended for nostalgics :)

    Great and simple

    I cannot fault it and using is a dodle. I tried solid state mem cameras and could not get my head round the menue. Sometimes progess is not the answer.

    Sony DVD Camcorder

    I recently spent a week in Tokyo and couldn't help myself in the electronic shopping area. I discovered the Sony camcorders, which I have always appreciated and then saw this easy to use DVD camcorder. I like the fact that I can simply use DVDs (rather than tapes and the latest technology, i.e. hard drives which are simply too cumbersome / heavy on a practical level). I also appreciate the easy menu facilities and light weight. Decided not to purchase first generation technology but to look on ebay on my return and, delighted with the end product.
