About this product

Product Information

Character actor Tony Shalhoub finally found his perfect role on the television show MONK, winning both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his performance. Shalhoub plays Adrian Monk, a neurotic, obsessive-compulsive former police detective who now solves crimes in his spare time, but secretly hopes to be reinstated on the force. However, as valuable as Monk's brilliant, deductive mind is, it is matched only by the depth of his obsessive fear of germs, heights, and crowds, ultimately rendering him unfit for duty. The highly acclaimed detective-comedy has been called the successor to COLUMBO. MONK: SEASON TWO features episodes with guest stars as diverse as Andrew McCarthy, Amy Sedaris, John Turturro, Sarah Silverman, and SNL's Rachel Dratch.

  • Monk - Second Season

Three of the eight disc I could not even use they were in such bad shape, four others had bad parts through them and one disc was good. There were only two shows on each disc which I though was different. The set took two weeks to arrive than I had to make a trip to the city post office to sign to receive it, that has never happened with any other order I have made with ebay. I was not at all satified, this is the first bad experience I have had with a DVD, I tried to get online to express my complaint but was told I must have passed the 90 days, it had only been maybe thrity day from the order. Seeing it took two weeks to arrive and several days to actually view all the tapes I though I responded quickly. Thank you for the opportunity to view my opinion.

  • Well written and acted

I love this series. It never fails to disappoint. I do avoid the Circus episode like the plague though. I can't stomach it. Some of the murders are very grisly, I wouldn't show this to children or young adults.

  • Monk Season 2

I see the same thing happened to other purchasers of this product. I love Monk but my DVD's also came from China with the writing in Chinese. None of the bonus features were present on the one and only DVD that would play. They were wrapped in tissue paper and would not play all the way through. Only one could even be seen. The other 7 wouldn't run in our DVD player and a message came up that said "invalid disc". I am extremely disappointed and feel cheated.

  • There's no escaping MONK.

This particular version of the product appears to have been a bootleg. Bonus features were unavailable and there were a few glitches in the playing. If possible, buy a legitimate set. That being said, Monk - Season 2 is absolutely delightful, as are seasons 1,3,4,5,6,7,& 8. Every character and every plot is a wonder, some more than others but all great! (The only drawback: I've been a Randy Newman fan for decades but the theme song gets a little tedious after a season or so.)

  • OCD with a Human Face-MONK

I purchased these DVDs (Monk-Season Two) for several reasons. First, I was given Monk Season One as a Christmas gift from my son. He had heard from me how much my niece and I enjoyed watching this new TV program. In fact, we enjoyed season two just as much as the first season, so how could I pass up the opportunity to purchase this one too? Monk puts a human face on OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). How could you not like it? As with all TV shows, there will come a time when this one ends. By purchasing these DVDs, my laughter won't be just a memory. I thank the seller for listing!
