Vera the Mouse
This is a review of an adorable and highly collectible children's book called "Vera In The Washtub". This is part of Marjolein Bastin's popular Vera the Mouse series. This story was originally published in the Netherlands in the Dutch language; my copy of the book is the English language edition, but it was printed in the Netherlands. The book is dated 1987/1988. Published by Barron's. Illustrated with beautiful full-color illustrations. The translation is by Emilie Boon. The verse is by Jean Grasso Fitzpatrick. This book is just darling! The illustrations are so cute and they are the best part of the book. The entire story is written in poetry. (I daresay the poetry is a bit quirky, but I just love the poems even though they are somewhat odd.) Some of the topics covered in the poem are ... This whimsical little book is sure to bring a smile to your face...
