SciFi Comedy at its Best. First book of an awesome series.
I bought this book for my 14 year old nephew who is having trouble finding books that keep his interest (btw - a 14 year olds attention span is equal to that of a gnat). Just the cover , front and back, was enough to grab his attention and make him want to read well past the first few pages. Narrated by his trusty man-servant, you get to follow the galactic antics of a multi-gazillionaire who decides to start his own version of the Foreign Legion. My personal favorite for SciFi Comedy would have to be Douglas Adams and his Hitchikers Guide's; however, Robert Asprin is much easier to read and definitely supplies the action and humor to maintain interest for a young reader. Do an Internet Search for Phule's Company and checkout the artwork on the front and rear cover. If that ... Didn't make a Phule out of me!!
This book is a one-sit read, because I couldn't put it down! The characters are engaging and funny, and Beeker just cracks me up. If you have a good sense of humor and enjoy books that make you laugh out loud, this one is for you.

A must read!!!
This book (and others in the series) shows that Sci Fi can be funny, but not necessarily silly. The characters are all underdogs who the readers will find themselves cheering for. It probably should be required reading in leadership schools.
