I wanted a simple, all tube amp that wouldn't bust my wallet and that I could leave at my weekly gig without having to worry if one of my more expensive amps would get ripped off leaving it there. So, I researched and decided to try the Bugera V55. I was more than impressed when it arrived. It looks good, sounds good, and is built well. I did swap out the tubes and speaker...not that the stock ones were bad or broken, I just have a preference of what I like. Thus far, no problems. Whatever problems Bugera had years ago apparently have been addressed and corrected. Of course, any mass-produced item is going to have a couple of duds get past QC, but if there's a decent seller behind the amp, no worries... and Bugera offers a 3-year warranty on it as well. So a purchase is relatively no-risk. The amp is responsive, quiet, and solid. The cabinet is nicely finished MDF and is larger than most open-back amps I've had...lends itself to easy access for stuff you carry in the back of the amp like a power strip, or the included foot pedal., or optional cover (recommended). About the foot pedal: I've read some reviews that complain that it's cheap plastic. Well, yeah, it is plastic. Metal would add to the cost you have to pay for the amp. But as far as durability, you'd have to have an elephant step on it to break it. I'll take the plastic and lower cost, thank you. And the ability to switch out different tube types with auto biasing through the Infinium circuitry is awesome! LIke 6L6's? Keep 'em in. Prefer EL34's? Drop 'em in! Want one of each? No problem. Incredible. Orange has a similar technology in their tube amps for a LOT more money called DIVA (Digital Intelilgent Valve Assessment) Unless you're a label snob, this little beast will serve you well. It's such a steal at its price, that you'll probably read a lot of negative reviews about it most likely written by seething competitors who can't justify the cost of their overseas-built amps anymore. Yes, it's Chinese built. But most of the affordable Fenders are made in Mexico, and the ever-popular Marshal DSL40's are made in Vietnam! Buy what you want, but don't overlook this gem in your consideration.Read full review

I bought this for my studio to replace the similarly sized Vox that kept giving me trouble. I have to say this thing sounds great, as good if not better than the Vox. Furthermore being able to switch between two channels and having features like auto bias and effects loops are great. I'm going to buy the V22 as well once one becomes available from musicgroup.

I purchased this V55 to play my bass guitar, issue is it’s set up for guitar and not set up for bass application, but I made it happen first I replaced all the tubes (2) 6L6 with RCA BLACKTOPS, NEXT REPLACED (3) 12AX7 with RCA BLACKTOP GO GETTERS , then I REMOVED There SPEAKER AND REPLACED WITH A EMinemce ledged BP-122 250 watt 8 ohm .. BASS SPEAKER Then fired up and began playing after about 3 days and 10 hrs it is a true bass guitar amp the sound ....the lows are deep and clean, the mids are clear and not muddy.and the highs clean ... My mates are total impressed of what this box is reproduceing , and total cost 600.00 total.. we took my box to the local guitar center and performed a demo with all other tube amps as close to the specs of my V55 50 watt 12 inch speaker.. ( orange, Ampeg, and fender, and results where Outstanding, even the musicians at the store where impressed So I created a tube bass amp for a fraction of the others MFGS.. Very happy with my V55 I would recommend this combo to all looking for a hidden gem Mannix Read full review

This amp will do anything you want it to do. It has a great growling fuzz crunch that sounds wonderfully vintage. Clean channel is crystal clean, I've had a couple buds one is a instructor the other has played 25 plus years my brother in law played it all three said the same thing " best sounding amp they've heard" and all three thought it was much more expensive than I paid under 300 including shipping. It has that nice vintage look. Looks expensive sounds expensive but not and it is all tube, add your pedals and "ROCK ON"

Awesome sounding amp. If you are looking for a great hard rock dirty channel and a crisp clean channel, dont hesitate to pick this amp up. This amp kicks ass. The price is unreal. Looks asthetically beautiful as well. Just an amazing amp at an amazing price. Bugera is really building some amazing tube amps.
