This item didn’t come in exactly as pictured, but the seller responded immediately and was very gracious in offering me a partial refund even bough I wasn’t expecting one for what I paid for the item. I have bought from this seller before, and they are reputable and stand behind the products they sell. My other transactions with them have been perfect. Great communication. Packaging and price were good. Fairly fast shipping, too. Thanks.

  • A look at daily life in the past

This book is fascinating. It tells about the little things in daily life that never make it into the history books. It talks about the social trends and norms that pervaded during the 1700s and 1800s. I especially liked the chapters about women and what they were expected to do and how they were expected to act. If anyone thinks that these times were the "good old days" they need to read this book to see what people had to deal with and the problems they had to solve. It may seem romantic to live in an era of horse drawn carriages, but consider the smell of this mode of transportation and the waste that had to be cleaned from city streets. There are many other examples of romanticized concepts that, in reality, were not romantic at all.

  • Just what I was hoping for...

The book is in immaculate condition.
