About this product

Product Information

Inspired by the March 2007 CGI film, TMNT on Wii takes the fearsome foursome through a series of acrobatic battles amidst the dark and gritty streets, sewers, subways, and rooftops of New York City. To faithfully capture each turtle's signature fighting moves and athletic prowess, developer Ubisoft Montreal designed the game with the same "Jade" graphics engine used in the acclaimed Prince of Persia series on home consoles. The heroes in a half-shell will confront enemies new and old, including the Foot Clan, the Purple Dragon Street Gang, and monstrous creatures loyal to the film's antagonist, Max Winters.

Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo are all playable despite the combat-oriented action being strictly reserved for solo gamers. Each character offers an assortment of motion-sensitive attacks using his trademarked weapon, and can block or evade impending blows. Navigating each level involves jumping from rooftop to rooftop, climbing buildings, diving into sewers, and more, with new areas unlocked by performing temporary tag-team moves with a computer-controlled character. TMNT is the first game in the franchise to be published by Ubisoft, who acquired the license from Konami in January 2006.

  • Typical 3-D Adventure-reminds me of side scrollers

I like how easy it is to play. All of the moves for each turtle and combinations are easy. You have unlimited lives which comes in handy if you get stuck somewhere. You also basically can't die unless you fall off a ledge. I bought it because the TMNT games were all a success back in the day on nintendo and I figured I had nothing to lose with a great price. This game is long which is a plus and has lots of ways to finish stages. Time is a very important element. If you constantly fall or take your time then you will not be fast enough to unlock the extra stages, and that is one of the best things in the game. I love the extras. I can't stress that enough. I don't know if this game will have any replayability once I have mastered all the levels, but right now it's lots of fun and ...

  • Turtles: Smashed up play. Not Terrible... but not great

I have played (and own) all three of the super smash bros. games and was looking for a fun alternative... this wasn't it. In Smash Up you have a health meter as opposed to trying to knock opponent's off the screen (like in Smash Bros.) and while the game can be played with any wii remote (regular, classic or gamecube controller) NOWHERE in the game does it say what the controls of each does! In the tutorial it's like "press the attack button to attack... Press the grab button to grab" without saying which button that is!!! It's so sad it's almost funny. Given that fact you've probably figured out one of the other downsides, you can't set up custom controls. Not only that but when using the gamecube controller (my fave) the C-stick, which is used a TON in Smash Bros., doesn't do anything ...

  • TMNT - Nintendo Wii

This is a very fun game, especially using the innovative Wii controls....however there are times that get frustrating when you're trying to do things that the Wii remote won't respond to when necessary. Like changing to a different turtle, it seems you gotta push both the buttons at the EXACT same time otherwise it wont and you get hit by the enemies and it ruins the momentum bar you had going and start all over again. It's nice that once you finish a level, you must do it over again to find the missing coins that will unlock the special minigames. The minigames themselves are very difficult to even finish, let alone finish at a decent time to collect the 3 coins. If you're looking for a game that will take you hours to work on, this is the game for you. A solid 7 out of 10 from me.

  • ShellShocked!!!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) gives players the chance to relive their nostalgia for the series. Going in, the game holds a lot of promise as it is developed by Ubisoft Montreal most notablely known for their Prince of Persia series. The prospect of a POP-esque game in a TMNT world is very tantalizing. Unfortunately the game does not live up to expectations. TMNT is a third person action game that, like POP, gives players the ability of run along walls, do acrobatics, dodge traps and adds new abilities like call in your turtle brothers to pull team combos. Despite these features TMNT is no where close to the caliber POP Sands of time was. The blame can solely be put on a fact that it feels dumbed down to appeal to a very young crowd to coincide with the demographic targeted by the ...
