    A good sentimental laugh

    Judy Conner captures the true essence of a marriage that is just not working and yet the friendship lingers. It is their enduring friendship that sees them through some tough times. The dog is a theme throughout the lives of these people and anyone who has had a good dog would certainly relate to this. One does not need to have gone through a divorce to love this book. You will keep snickering at her colorful descriptions and sense of humor from a true southern belle. It is a fast read and a book you will not put down. I enjoyed it so much 2 years ago, that I brought it to my book club, that has mostly serious books, and every lady loved it and was glad for the comic relief. Judy brings to life the lifestyle of living in New Orleans and her sassy sense of humor to every chapter. I ...

    It starts out funny, but true, and ends up funny and true. She writes about all things southern in a place that I hold dear to my heart...the South and in particular, New Orleans. There are good recipes and ideas strung through the book. You would think it was a "woman's" book, but my husband is now reading it and comments on it everyday.
