    Good device if the price is right.

    This device is a good choice for constant voltage, constant current dc. As you can imagine in a supply that can generate 40 VDC at 30 A, the fans are noisy. As shipped from HP, the device uses 220 VAC, but HP had a factory option for converting to 110-120 VAC. The manual includes instructions for making this change on-site. This is a heavy unit and if you rack mount it you need to be very sure of your installation.

    Typical HP workhorse

    I buy HP whenever possible because their gear is WAY overdesigned, maintains its precision for decades and lasts forever. This supply is no exception and I've purchased 3 of them so far to use in my business. Hey there we go - business - as in, "My survival depends on my gear" - and this means "buy HP".
