I bought this book because I'm a big Doris Day fan. I didn't like it very much, because most of it is just rehashed information from her autobiography with A.E. Hotchner. Also, the writer has an annoying habit of going off on tangents about actors he likes, movies he's seen and little anecdotes that really have nothing to do with the subject at hand. For example, he tells the story of actor Gig Young who did some movies with Ms. Day, and who later murdered his wife and committed suicide. It makes sense to include this because of his connection to Ms. Day. However, he also includes many stories about actors who have little or no connection to the story, but who for some reason he is reminded of. Because of this, it's very hard sometimes to keep track of the events in this book, most ... I bought this book because I'm a big Doris Day fan.
