Some could consider this album one of the greatest albums for Indie Rock. While I can't go that far, I do have to admit that listening through this entire album does leave a lasting impression. What can I really say about the Shins? They have a sound that is somewhat reminscient of the Beatles but at the same time, they are distinct in what they sing about. I think that the first song on the album, Caring is Creepy, really sets the pace for the entire album. New Slang, and Girl on the wing, are also several standout tracks for me. This is an essential album to my growing collection of music.
Like the Beach Boys of the 21st Century. A cool, upbeat group with haunting, yet catching melodies and a unique vocal style give the SHINS an instant likability. Listen and you will be hooked. Bound to play over and over... don't miss their hit: New Slang.
Great for reinventing and rising above a terribly inverted world. Good audio drug.

Addicting hippie folk pop (sometimes reminds me of Marcy Playground). These catchy songs will stick in your head and leave you wanting more. New Slang is absolutely beautiful (I like to put it on repeat). There's not a bad tune on here. 5 Stars.
Saw the Shins at the ACL Fest in Austin, Tx., so I ordered their CD, good music and great service. Go Shins
Honestly, I decided to buy this album after buying the second and third albums released by The Shins. In between buying "Oh, Inverted World" and receiving it, I saw Garden State, and fell completely in love with "New Slang". The lilting melodies, psychadelic flavors, and unique vocals give this album a certain undefinably awesome quality. Buy it: you won't be disappointed!!!!
