Omega Force applies its hack-and-slash formula to a beloved RPG franchise in Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below. The action is set in the city or Arba, where humans and monsters lived together peacefully until a mysterious, dark shockwave sent the monsters into a frenzy. Players can take on the role of Luceus or Aurora as they join popular Dragon Quest characters like Alena, Bianca, and Yangus for battles against giant foes and seemingly endless swarms of monsters. Gamers can collect monster medals from downed enemies, then bring as many as 24 of those fallen foes back to the battlefield as allies. Characters level up as they battle, and players can use the skill points they earn to upgrade each warrior's weapons, armour, spells, and special abilities. Dragon Quest Heroes also includes a synthesis system that lets gamers create unique accessories.
