About this product

Product Information

This follow-up to 2002's rhythm-influenced third-person shooter aims to once again blend timing and flair with full-bore, blast-anything-that-moves action. The undead, coffin-wielding star of the original game, Gungrave, returns, but he is joined by two new playable characters: Juji Kabane, a bitter, foul-mouthed swordsman who can inflict quick and deadly melee damage in spite of his blindness, and Rocket Billy RedCadillac, a leather-wearing rock 'n roller who shoots devastating bolts of electricity from his guitar. The chosen character will venture through a variety of destructible environments in nine stages of unrelenting action with a twist; the original game's Beat Counter returns to reward players who can keep up a steady, stylish stream of damage and demolition. As in the original GunGrave, Trigun artist Yashiro Nightow contributed to character design in GunGrave: Overdose, as did Kosuke Fujishima, who is known for work on Sakura Wars. The game's soundtrack was composed by Tsuneo Imahori.

For the price I paid, the game, case, and manual should have been like new as described. But, the case had some wear and scratches. Was packaged well and shipped quickly. Thanks.

    Gungrave review

The gameplay was decent but the storyline could of been better. I don't like the guy named bill they could of omitted his name into something else. Maybe at the time they was exposing him and his crimes so it was fitting but today it's taboo to ever look or speak about him in a entertaining fashion. How you kill Freddy is how you kill him.

  • A GREAT GAME INDEED!!! (Spoilers)

What's not to like about the gungrave series? This one, based off the events foretold in the anime, it's based five years after the events that partook between Brandon/Grave, Harry, and the group Millenion. It doesn't quite pick up after the first game, however its fast-paced action makes up for it. Grave has been revived by Mika because she fears that the orginization is falling apart due to recent events, a new face has shown itself in town, and is using necrolization and a new form of mutation called 'SEED' to do its bidding. When their commandant, Don Corleone challenges the leading cabinet of Millenion, by sending his goons, and slaughtering them all, Mika decides, that although she does not prefer to do so, she revives her old friend. In doing so, he gains his power back, defeats ...

  • Mixed Emotions...

O.K....here's the deal: this game is quite a bit of fun, but I am not giving it 5 stars or even 4...WHY? The graphics, are worthy of ps1, maybe more like nintendo...The same could be said for the sound. The plot is just plain strange, but you can easily ignore it and focus on killing bad guys, which is really what makes this game fun. No weapons inventory to scroll through, easy targeting, just shoot and swing your coffin (hard to explain)...anyway, if you want some mindless fun and don't mind the old-school feel, try this one out!!!

  • Short but sweet, better if you like the series

Since I am a fan of the anime, I liked the game. If you've never seen it, it might not stick as well, and if you don't like anime at all, well, you shouldn't get this game. It's a very straightforward button masher, lots of stuff flying around and explosions. Decent replay value, but like I said, if you don't like the anime you shouldn't pick this title up.

  • More bullets, more explosions, triple the action

Beyond The Grave returns and now he is joined by two new comers, and this time it goes beyond the mafia scene. With Harry McDowell gone, a new crime syndicate steps up with a new product called Seed. What is Juji's connection to this? Does Billy have the missing pieces of the story? And why does it have have come down more orgmen, military, mafia, deadmen, and other forces gunning for Beyond The Grave? One thing is for sure, it's time to kick some ass again. There have been serious improvements to the world of Grave. With three seperate stories, fighting styles, and overkill levels who can't say that the dead don't have any kick? New story, cutlscenes, more action, and for the first time, english voice actors. If you played the first Gungrave then you know that this too is a must ...
