    Obsolete and expensive

    I hesitate to review this as the product is an obsolete replacement for an original unit that failed. The Carrier Infinity system is IMHO overkill for HVAC control. This is a computer that talks to a computer in the furnace which talks to a computer in the outside heat pump, all via a proprietary communications bus. I had no choice but to find another identical thermostat for one that totally failed. Based on that failure, I have no confidence in this one lasting any longer, and the replacement cost is totally unreasonable. I will investigate any option to use a simple $50 Honeywell programmable t-stat instead. I rated the quality yes=good because the new one is fine. Long term quality is another matter. Buy only if you have no other option.
