The most active antenna since sliced bread!!.
I have used many types of radio recieving antenna before, this particular antenna is amongst the top ten of them all. It's strongly built and made so it should last a long time before any wear is showing if any does at all. It certainly opened up a few bands and frequencies that seemed to have little on them previously!!?. Who ever said that shortwave radio was dead is very wrong indeed, one needs a decent radio like the old National Panasonic DR 48/DR 49 or even modern radios like the Eton shortwave radio types around these days, I have National Panasonic and Eton shortwave radios and find the antenna that I have purchased is more than adequate to bring them to life!!!.I have used many types of radio recieving antenna before, this particular antenna is amongst the top ten of them all. Lightweight with great performance.
This is a well made, lightweight antenna. Simple and quick to setup so ideal for portable use as well as permanent installation if you are short of space. Covers most of the HF bands, 40 to 10 metres, and can be coerced to work on 80 metres with a suitable tuner. Is it as good as a full size dipole or a longer random wire antenna? No, but my first tests, included a 5000Km CW contact using 5 watts. Definitely a 5 star product. This is a well made, lightweight antenna. Discrete, great value but effective HF antenna
Simple to setup and effective for its size. It is certainly worth the money i paid for it. I have a small and in places vertical garden on a hillside in an AONB site (Malvern Hills). So this antenna ticks all the boxes for being compact and discrete. The UNUN box is mounted on a pole 3m above the top of the roof (so approx 10m above ground) then the wire slopes up the hill and is secured to a tree at the top of the garden around 3 meters above the ground at this point. I have run earth wires to a short fan of 4 ground plane wires. Noise is impressively low compared to the vertical antenna i used previously and performance at the lower frequency bands is also improved. I have operated this antenna through an external ATU, so i don't know how close the SWR gets on some of the bands. With an ... Simple to setup and effective for its size. 100% works like a dream.
Had this made to my own custom length of 16.15m. under 2:1 swr on all the bands and some being low as 1:1, So all the rigs that only tune 3:1 with there inbuilt atu will find this easy to tune. Took it out portable on a 8m pole in a sloper setup with the unun 1.5m above the ground and 15ft off coax and made contacts very easy on my 10 watts. Marks makes a very well made product that does the job its intended for 10/10 service.
