  • Southern racial tensions with a historical murder added

This film was made for TV for HBO in the early 1980's. The story centers around a southern black woman and the history and tragedy that has surrounded her past life. The cast is excellent with bravos going to Jamie Lee Curtis, Scott Glenn and Beah Richards. Bette Dais makes one of her usual supporting role appearances and is quite creditable in the role of the invalid. Not Davis's best but still an enjoyable film none the less. Definately deserving of 4 out of 5 stars. Watch it. You might just enjoy it!!

  • A hard to find movie.

I loved this movie. The movie was in very good condition for its age. I believe that it was somewhat of a sleeper when it came out in 1989, but it was one of or maybe the last movie that Betty Davis made so the movie was hard to find. Because of its age and use, towards the end of the movie there were pictures on a shelf, near the table where the men were sitting at in the house, some of the pictures were not clear, but this was somewhat expected. I would buy again from this source and I would recommend it.
