I have been a fan of Konami PES games since like 99 or so back then it was known as winning eleven to most soccer gaming fans all over the world. I used to also purchase fifa and they did make some succesful attempts like fifa 99 and the most of world cup games. Honestly, ever since like 2004 i had given up on fifa. The intelligence was not there, players weren't moving while u are attacking and it was way too easy to score goals for me. This year, I read many reviews about the new Fifa and I said to myself, PES is the way to go and i went out and purchased PES again. Pes was fun at first but the glitches and the lack of leagues and online options started to bore me soooooo I GOT the new FIFA YESTERDAY! WHAT A GAME! 1. The Graphics are beyond real. Its hard to score when u are face to face with the goalkeeper, whereas in PES the goalie just stands there and looks at u when u are trying to score a goal against him. 4.Many online and cup options 5. So many different leagues and real player names as well as a great commentary! 6.The buttons are the same as PES!! Makes it easier to get adjusted to the game I can honestly say that Fifa is PES plus a lot more. For the first time in 10 years I am selling my PES before my Fifa.. There is no reason for any PES fan to not like this game. The buttons are the same, the graphics better, squad names are newer( Berbatov is in MANU), price is the same as PES, you can update player names and skills. EVERYTHING is much better. I would highly recommend this game to any soccer fan. It is worth the money.

It's been a busy 12 months for EA Sports and football games. FIFA 08 was a genuine revolution for the series, with a more realistic pace and improved AI adding some much-needed depth to the gameplay. UEFA Euro 2008 came six months later, further refining this ground work while expanding the features list with more unique game modes. With FIFA 09--the third EA Sports football game in a bit more than a year--they've honed the core gameplay even further, and added even more features, game modes, and online elements to the mix. It amounts to an incredibly deep and varied package, and despite a few niggling bugs and performance issues, FIFA 09 is the pinnacle of the series so far. Given the six-month period of time between Euro 2008 and FIFA 09, it's no surprise that the two games play very ... It's been a busy 12 months for EA Sports and football games. FIFA 08 was a genuine revolution for the series, with a more realistic pace and improved AI adding some much-needed depth to the gameplay. The pace has quickened slightly, passes need to be directed with even greater accuracy, and the referees seem even more eager to dish out cards. The most noticeable improvement is in the physical quality of the players themselves. Attackers point to where they want the ball, defenders direct offside violations to the linesmen, and everyone's lost that plastic look from FIFA 08 that was so off-putting. Although you can still spot individual animation routines during replays, the players now genuinely feel as if they're interacting with each other and the ball. As a result, player weight and speed are now a vital part of overall tactics, and combining runs with perfectly timed passes has become the only real way to succeed. With opponent AI that absolutely will not stop until it gets the ball from you, FIFA 09 is now firmly rooted in simulation territory. Experienced players can still use the left-trigger-enabled trick system to run around players, but unless you're passing the ball around effectively, you have little hope of keeping possession. The result is a game that's heavy on midfield battles--even the commentators remark on how often possession moves between teams. The AI is particularly good even on the easier settings, not only moving in to take the ball off you, but springing off-side traps and adapting their tactics throughout each match. This punishing difficulty forces you to up your game, and you soon start to develop a rhythm and accuracy that can cut through defenses to score some spectacular goals. Only the odd AI mistake from your own team conspires against you, with goalkeepers running to punch a ball that's flying well wide of the goal, or the computer selecting entirely the wrong defender for you when the other team is on a break. Adding to the deep and rewarding gameplay is a wealth of new and existing game modes. The new cover feature is Be a Pro: Seasons, which expands last year's BAP mode to cover a full four seasons. In Be a Pro, you control a single real-world player or a custom character instead of an entire team, and then craft the career of that player for both club and country over four years. You still have to focus on winning games, but each match carries additional criteria such as making a certain number of passes, tackles, or goals, which add to your overall experience points. If you're a real fan of a certain player then it's great to step into his boots, but Be A Pro is most addictive when you spend time customising your own footballer and putting your name on the back of a shirt.

I like this game a lot....I like the gameplay and its fun to play either on your own or with friends....What I dont like is that the computer is sort of "great" in a sense once you raise the difficulty....I've never played soccer so I didnt know the rules at first but I got used to it....This is a fun game and has some good game modes....I'm into the 2k sports games I used to be a fan of EA but they have fallen off in recent years...But this is a good game and I have fun playing.I like this game a lot....I like the gameplay and its fun to play either on your own or with friends....What I dont like is that the computer is sort of "great" in a sense once you raise the difficulty....I've never played soccer so I didnt know the rules at first but I got used to it....This is a fun game and has some good game modes....I'm into the 2k sports games I used to be a fan of EA but they have fallen off in recent years...But this is a good game and I have fun playing.

So, for those of you who played FIFA 08, you noticed that the AI still needed some work, and sometimes when you pass the ball to player who is facing their back on you...the ball would just bounce back. EA games has fixed over 200 improvements into the game, and one of them being receiving the ball regardless how your player is positioned. What I also noticed in 09 is that sometimes the strikers will use the outside of the boot to take a shot, which I believe it has been never used as a animation in the previous versions. The cool thing about 09 is after scoring a goal, you can control your player's movement and celebration inside the pitch. Another cool feature is the 10vs10 be a pro mode for XBOX LIVE. Everyone has a player to control except the goal keeper... from defenders to wingers ... In the previous version, the longer you hold the pass button, the further it went... but without displaying any power bar. I also noticed the animations of players are more realistic when they get tackled, when going for a ball in the air, or when the goal keeper let's the ball go wide. When a striker is through your defense and you slide tackle the striker and prevent him from scoring, you automatically get a red card... I don't recall this happening in the previous versions. The game also has referee and linesmen who actually does the right animation for throw ins, corner kicks, and off sides. For me, the through pass got a lot easier from the previous version... except you have to holder longer because the pass is actually weaker in 09. Those are some of the features added to 09... I do believe this is by far the best FIFA game out there. The graphics are amazing, and the whole animation is like watching real football :P Graphics 5/5 Sound 5/5 Animation 5/5 What could EA have done better: -When a player is sent off, I wish you can see the player go to the dug out and perhaps starting arguments with the fourth official or knocking down the water jug! I don't know some more realistic animations. -During manager mode, have a forecast change instead of always being a good weather... maybe add rain? snow? -Just like 08, EA didn't add the assist statistics for your club players. I still believe it's important to know who are the players with most assists :p -I can be blind but I don't see no chemistry information during manager mode. -I can't change the captain during manager mode... again I can be just stupid :p

The players move in a fluid movement making runs off the ball, and also calling for the ball which provides better options when attacking the oppositions goal. As you may have experienced the players move some what slow. Not on '09 much faster game play and pace. Along with speed you have greater movement an options for passing. '08 the attacks were predictable and untactful. As far as customizability goes, you have a number of different options for setting up the way your team attack, and defends. This option I found extremely helpful. Oh and don't worry about team chemistry it won't affect the performance of your team. I can say that this game has a lot of improvements. Go ahead and buy the game. You won't be disappointed :) Overall this ... Compared to FIFA 08 the game play is much better.
