Great Beater Watch
This is my third model of this watch in twenty years. I lost the first one. I have always replaced the strap with a velcro or NATO strap and have never worn the original strap because I didn't like it. I have also always put the little compass on the aftermarket strap. Of the three watches, two of the tiny compasses actually worked pretty well. I really like this watch as it is tough, water resistant to 100 meters, not too large, and the font is large and easy to read. It is much easier to read (font is twice as big) than my G-SHOCK GW-M5610-1. As a professional mariner and pilot, I like that it has the second time zone as well which I have always set to GMT. It has three alarms and all the other functions of a typical digital watch. It would be the perfect digital watch for me if it was solar powered and had multi band atomic clock sync like the G-Shock. A great watch overall though. Hey, I've bought three of them.

Simple, versatile, inexpensive, many handy functions
This replaces essentially the same Timex Expedition I have purchased several times over the past 10 or more years. The buttons were wearing out on my last one, although it was still working after over 5 years and one or two battery changes. It is simple to use, especially since I already know how to access and set all of the functions, and at some point I use every one of the functions in the course of everyday life. The countdown timer is great for grilling and cooking. I love that it's totally waterproof so I can swim with it. I’ve been wearing the same model watch for over the last 10 years.
