Replacement for my dead iPod
This 6GB iPod Mini I received is in good shape, and came with both a brand new outlet and auto charger. While the battery is original, it does fully charge and holds charge very well. I have loaded music onto the device with no problems and it functions very well for its age. This Mini is an exact match of my 13 year old device, which failed.

I purchased this mini as the eventual replacement for my current mini when it's battery starts to fail to hold a charge. This is my 9th, or 10th mini and since my current mini seems to be on it's last legs, I'll probably soon start using this newer one more often. I'll be able to supply a more accurate rating once I start using it more. That's why I left the question about long battery life unanswered because I don't know yet how long it will last until I'm actually playing it regularly. Although this does not have even half of the current iPod technology, it is a good product for a basic MP3 player. Does all the basic Music and Podcast playback associated with MP3 players and has a screen display as well as the ability to build your own playlists "On the Go". It does not feature a color screen, the ability to play Music Videos, TV Shows, or Movies, or any of the Games or Apps that can be bought on the iTunes store, but it is a great iPod to start out with for a child or the average soccer mom at the gym or for going on jogs.Although this does not have even half of the current iPod technology, it is a good product for a basic MP3 player. I have purchased one a few years ago, and I wish I would have done it when they first come out. I have missed a lot of years of enjoyment with this IPod devices. I liked the size because I won't lose it and it keeps reminding me that it is strapped to my arm. It is simple to use and enough capacity to enjoy for several days. I don't need 160 gb of music on my ear, i just needed to be available in my computer. I also lilke that i can get wraps for it that I can print on my own printer. Accessories are very cheap now days. Also the online geeks have posted several ways to hack or tweak this devices, so I'm glad for that too.I have purchased one a few years ago, and I wish I would have done it when they first come out. But it's not just about looks - the iPod Mini sounds fantastic. After comparing it with my third-generation iPod, tracks definitely sounded clearer on the iPod Mini, as if it were capable of better frequency response. By comparison the 3G iPod sounded positively muffled. A sign of PortalPlayer's enhanced audio chip, perhaps. The Mini's packaging is as lovely as ever. The box lid slides off to reveal the mini wrapped in plastic. The box underneath is split in two halves - one for the install discs and one for the headphones, USB cable and a belt holster. As with all the new iPods there's no Firewire cable, no dock, no remote - but they are available as optional extras. There's no AC adaptor either, so you can only charge when connected to the PC. There are other missing features that ... But it's not just about looks - the iPod Mini sounds fantastic. The good news is that Apple is still offering a 4GB version, with all the benefits of extended battery life, at an affordable £139/$199. So if your main aim in owning a Mini is to look trendy, the cheaper 4GB version could be the way to go. One day of course, a 20GB iPod will be this size, but for now six gigs is your limit. At this capacity it no longer loses out to the Zen Micro and H10, but while Creative and iRiver have both worked hard on improving the look and usability of their players, the Mini is still miles ahead. With its rounded sides and neat click-wheel interface, it feels right in you hand and is easy to control and use too. Verdict With the new iPod Mini, Apple has increased its capacity by a 50 per cent, battery-life by one-and-a-quarter times and improved sound quality. It's a pretty impressive triple whammy and as long as its capacity is large enough for you, the iPod Mini would be our recommended digital audio player. jamieday83
