Rhys's prequel to Charlotte Brontë's JANE EYRE follows young heiress Antoinette Cosway (Rebecca Hall) as she falls for the charms of Edward Rochester (Rafe Spall). The pair meet in Jamaica in the 1830s and enjoy a whirlwind romance until Antoinette becomes suspicious of Edward's motives. Antoinette's fragile mental state finally cracks as her life enters a terrifying downward spiral.
