This is definitely the best horror-SF comic that Atlas published in the 1950's. It's nearly as good as the best EC horror & Science Fiction comics. Stan Lee wrote nearly all of the stories himself, and got artists like Bill Everett, Russ Heath, and Joe Maneely to illustrate them. Since this was done before the Comics Code, there are forbidden creatures like vampires, zombies, and werewolves, doing dirty deeds without lame morality lessons to tie them down. Not that there aren't a few "preachy" messages, but you don't get the feeling you are being lectured at like a five year old, which is often the case with the post-Code stories. One of the few drawbacks is the lack of art by Jack Kirby or Steve Ditko.
