    Excellent book for an introduction to IC engines

    I think this book is excellent for an introduction to IC engines. It starts with the basics and each chapter adds more knowledge and depth to the analysis and design of an IC engine. Each chapter is relatively short (25 pages) with plenty of graphs and illustration, making it possible to read the entire chapter in no more than 2 hours and thus better retain the material of that chapter. The only issue is that sometimes it loses continuity between chapters. Ex: chapter 2 talks about Otto, Diesel and other cycles; chapter 3 goes into stoichiometry and mixtures; chapter 4 returns to a refined Air-fuel Otto cycle. In fact, our professor did ch. 1, 11, 2,3,... Therefore, the book is organized more by difficulty level rather than topics. An excellent book to have a pretty good understanding of ...
