About this product

Product Information

The most anticipated story in the blockbuster Dark-Hunter series. The never-before-revealed story of the Dark-Hunter leader, Acheron. He was made human in order to escape death, but in death he was reborn a god. . . Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. However, his human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind. Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he'll do anything to keep concealed. Until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence. Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both. War has never been more deadly... or more fun.

    Keeps enthralled

I am reading the series in order and this book was pretty much the basis for the story. You can read it as a stand alone book, I believe as it is a story in itself. If you read the series, Acheron is the "caretaker" of all his dark hunters, but he is kind of strange. This book starts out with him human, tells his life story then when he becomes paranormal. Very very good book.

  • Acheron...Kenyon's best yet!

Deadly...sensual beyond belief...riveting and hot...this hero has been tightly woven throughout Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series of novels since 2004...and now she brings him to the forefront with blistering, amazingly hot force. Conceived from the union of the Atlantean god Archon and his wife Appolymi, the Atlantean goddess of destruction, and cursed to die before his birth by a father who fears him even in the womb, Acheron is taken from his mother's body and placed in the womb of a queen about to give birth, in defiance of Archon's demand that the babe be killed before he could become a menace to his pantheon. Believing that her son will be raised in comfort and safety as a prince until his twenty-first birthday when he will come into his full godhood, Appolymi is unaware that ...

  • WORTH THE WAIT!!

First I have to apologize as I am not an eloquent writer but let me assure you the book far surpassed my expectations! The inside cover reads: "Eleven thousand years aga a god was born. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind. Only it was never that simple. • Acheron is admirable, powerful, sensitive--a true hero

Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of my favorite authors. I have read almost all of her books. Acheron and Fantasy Lover were the ones I loved most. The book is inspiring, uplifting, and impossible to put down. It is about the strength of character and goodness triumphing against evil and impossible odds. It is a story of sensitive, tender, and powerful love. I actually only bought the book "Acheron" AFTER I had already read it. It made such an impression on me that I wanted to own it to read it again whenever I wanted to (which is something I have done only 2x in 10 years). It is an exceptionally good book.

  • acheron by sherrilyn kenyon

usually I start with the back of the book says: but in this case, if you have been reading the dark hunter series then you know who acheron (ash) is and this is his autobiography sorta. It's over 700 pages in length, the first 428 pages are the most heart wrenching fiction you will ever read, like some of the earlier dark hunter stories ash has a tragic past, however his is the most tragic of all the darkhunters, although ash is a god and the 2nd half is in line with her normal dark hunter story. it's good, i wonder how long it will be for nicks story..........
