    A lesson for all time

    Another amazing job by Ken Burns to put this series together. I've learned a lot about this awful war that I didn't know before; not only historical facts, but also the brutality, and how soldiers from all countries involved suffered agonizing pain, starvation, and death. My only "disappointment" was the series failed to show the particular battle in France that my uncle was killed. But then the war was so comprehensive that it would be impossible to show everything, even within the six DVDs provided. It certainly gave a sobering view of just how terrible war is, and the danger of what can happen when power is carried to an extreme when those in command want to rule the world.

    It`s very fascinating journey as told by people who experienced the pain and frustration of the Second World War. I could write a book about my feelings towards this video collection. What is funny is that I`m not even finished with watching all of it. I`m very touched and the film footage was spectacular! To those that have not purchased this set,you will want this in your collection. Worth having.

    Required Viewing For High School Kids ???

    Since we have forgotten that history matters, maybe documentary's such as this are part of the solution. Most anything produced by Ken Burns would be a valuable addition to ones library.
