The shipping was far faster than I could have ever imagined. I won the auction on Jan 8 and the item arrived at my door on Jan 12 - taking only 4 days from Bahrain to USA. Amazing! Well-packaged, excellent communication. Would deal again!

  • Great Lens

Lens seems great. I love the zoom length and the quiet autofocus. The lens hood also is a nice inclusion which will save money in the long run and poor pictures in the long run. So far the pictures all look great. As an amateur photographer, the slight distortion and picture quality problems that are discussed in many of the reviews are unnoticeable to me. What is keeping me from giving this lens an excellent is the autofocus. Although quicker than the kit lens, the focus is somewhat indecisive and not quite up to the speed of Canon's USM focusing. But for the picture quality and price, this lens is totally worth it for someone who likes photography as a hobby.

  • Sigma 18-250 review

On the plus side it has a nice range 18-250, the Nikon 18-200 seems to stop short. I have one of each. There is no coloration differences that I notice between Nikon and Sigma There is very little image differences sharpness, distortion, etc. The price with the new Nikon this was almost $200 less On the negative The optical stabilization on the Sigma makes makes the image jump as it comes back to life. When using the lens if you have not auto-focused (activated the mechanism) then the optical stabilization goes to sleep (powers down)and when you compose the image the OS activates and changes the composition. This is NOT a problem but can be an irritation when doing sports. The Nikon does not do this I am not sure why. I like the lens, but if I do any more sports I may sell it and buy the ...

  • Good lens but zoom in for short distance subject is not accurate.

This is a very compact lens for travel. The price is also reasonable. One thing we need to notice that the actual zoom length is dependent on the subject distance due to its design. If the subject is not far away, the ZOOM length is much shorter than the original Nikon Lens. Such as 250 mm of this lens 200 mm of Nikon 55-300mm lens if subject is not far away. For very far away object, it is equivalent to others.

  • Perfect carry lens for every occasion--

This lens takes me from 18 to 250mm with ease. Photos are sharp as a tack. This is my 2nd Sigma 18-250 because I already had one on my Nikon D5000. The current lens is on my Canon EOS 7D. Sigma makes a quality lens and I saved hundreds of dollars by not going broke and buying a Canon L series. I do not make a living selling photos, just a hobby, but this is the lens I wanted after reading many reviews and by using the one I already owned on the Nikon. It is not a lightweight lens, but my hands are big so it is easy to grip. This lens was a steal at $399.95 (used).

  • Great versatile lens for the money, no more swapping lenses

Being only an amateur photographer, I believe this is the lens for me without breaking the bank. Before purchasing, I read enough reviews on Nikon, Sigma and Tamaron. Based on comparisons to the 18-200mm lenses, I beleived they all were similar with varying results and although Nikon was the best, I thought the Sigma was just as good for my use. I purchased the 18-250mm Sigma lens for the little extra it offered. It's a nice lens for the money especially since I don't have to change lenses for wide angle and telephoto.
