Far more than an old TV show promotion - Excellent authentic recipes
I knew, from reading about Gertrude Berg, (Creator and star of the radio and TV series), that she wasn't the domestic type. But I had fond memories of the show (my mom's favorite), and thought I'd add it to my collection of cookbooks. I didn't expect much in the way of recipes I could use - or that would go beyond the usual Jewish cookbooks I already owned. But surprise surprise - it was chuck full of great recipes from around the world - things I had never seen in other cookbooks that actually looked tempting and worth a try. This is no doubt due to the fact that Myra Waldo, who no doubt researched and authored it, was a seasoned food writer. You'll have to put up with the fake comments from Molly (the shows fictional character) that pepper the book, but it's a small price to pay for the recipes themselves. As for the book itself, my copy was brand new, and a welcome addition to my bookshelf. The only thing I missed were photographs of the finished dishes, which are always welcome.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
