    I very much liked the book, but after I read it my daughter told me that John Muir was a racist. That didn't show in the book , but still I am hesitant to reccomend it.

    I have just started reading this booka d it seems very hard to put down. I have not been to Alaska yet but I know of the places he speak and he is very describetive without being too dry.
