    A Time & Money Saver

A worn chain damages the gears and rear derailluer. Modern bicycles have chains that are thinner and wear out quicker than single speed chains. This easy to use tool rapidly and accurately checks the chain wear. Repair-it-yourself bicyclists should consider having a chain checker in their toolbox.

  • Park CC-3.2 Chain Wear Tool is Easy to Use and Effective

This chain tool is super easy to use...ran out and checked four bikes in five minutes! One needed replacing as the chain has exceeded the 0.5% wear point. Be sure to buy the Park unit or another one which can indicate at 0.5%. Some cheaper tools don't indicate until 0.75% as a minimum, which is worn enough to be wearing out your cassette...a more expensive component.

  • CC-3.2 good for 10-speeds and 11-speeds

For my, 10-speed bike, I need to change the chain when it reaches 0.75. For my 11-speed bike, I need to change the chain when it reaches 0.5. The CC-3.2 has measurement for both 0.5 and 0.75. It's very easy to use: if the tool fits into the chain, the chain needs to be replaced.

  • Quick and easy chain wear check.

Pro is this tool is make well, and is a great quick check for chain wear. That being said I still use a METAL MACHINIST ruler to double check. Always good to measure twice and cut once.

  • CC-3.2 = accurate, simple, value

Initially I contenplated between this CC-3.2 and the other CC-4. I'm glad I decided on CC-3.2 because of its simplicity, value, and does what it supposed to be. I was intrigued by CC-4's "3 touch points", I don't think it's necessary. CC-3.2's "2 touch points" is plenty sufficient/accurate and simpler/easier to use. Also, I like a quick yes/no answer (with CC-3.2 or CC-4) than an inbetween/range answer (with CC-2) for chain wear.
