Perfect for back country
My ATV sets way out in the country, and the cold mornings kill my battery. Most times after several cold days in a row it just won't start. I picked up this solar charger hoping it would work. I put this charger on my battery before I leave and next trip out even if below zero my ATV starts like new. Unit is small but works perfectly for my needs. If needed I would pick up more of them in a heart beat! My ATV sets way out in the country, and the cold mornings kill my battery. Most times after several cold days in a row it just won't start. It will not keep up with the normal drain on my 02' GMC Envoy. It helps but if the vehicle setts more than a week even with the solar charger hooked up it won't start. The vehicle has been checked by the dealer and they can find not problems. If I hook it up to a battery maintainer plucked into the wall outlet it does just fine. I was very disappointed in the results. It would be nice to find a solar charger that will maintain the car battery when it sets for a couple weeks. I have gone back to disconnecting the battery and connecting the battery charger/maintainer to keep it from freezing in the winter time.It will not keep up with the normal drain on my 02' GMC Envoy.
