Combine high functionality and versatility in a small footprint, with the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1200 1762-L40BWA Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). This device offers a comprehensive set of transmission capabilities that significantly enhance productivity and efficiency in the workplace. Additionally, the 1761-L40BWA uses a modular, rack-less architecture, to facilitate ease of installation and maintenance. A type of industrial computer, this PLC model is part of the innovative MicroLogix 1200/1762 system that bridges the functional gap between the MicroLogix 1000/1761 and MicroLogix 1500/1764 controllers. Employing the industry-proven MicroLogix and small logic controller product series design, the 1762-L40BWA comes with a power supply, processor and multiple input/output (I/O) arrangements. It has an integrated 6,000-word non-volatile memory that combines 4,000 words for maximum program and 2,000 words for maximum data, all with 100 percent data retention. If you are running out of space, easily avail of the optional module, which enables you to back up your program and data using download capability and program upload. For greater flexibility, the 1762-L40BWA offers a broad set of I/O configurations that enable you to customize this device for a range of industrial applications. This unit comes with 24-volt direct current inputs that are either sink or source, including a built-in alternating current supply. It also includes 16 relay contact outputs for vibration and shock relay operations. To accommodate larger and more demanding applications, this device gives you the scalability you require for expansion purposes. With its modular architecture, you can take advantage of a wide variety of compatible expansion modules, where you can incorporate a combination of analog and digital modules. Embedded with an RS-232C port, the 1762-L40BWA can be linked with a computer operating on the RSLogix 500 programming software, where connection via this port supports several types of communication. Point-to-point transmission enables you to set up a direct connection of operator interface and programming devices, including dial-in remote programming. With integrated support for DF1 radio mode protocol, efficient data transfer can also be achieved, moreover, this mode of broadcasting lets you realize big savings by reducing “key ups” and power consumption. Other transmission types enabled by this unit include read and write transmission, with American standard code for information interchange (ASCII)-based devices, Ethernet/Internet protocol, Modbus remote terminal unit master and slave protocols, DeviceNet and DH-485 transmission. This industrial computer is equipped with advanced and powerful features for you to handle difficult and demanding applications. Some of these features include a 20-kilohertz high-speed counter, coupled with a 20-kilohertz pulse train output or pulse width modulation. It also comes with two trim potentiometers, four latching and four interrupt inputs. The latter enables the device to scan a subroutine, when conditions are detected from a field device or sensor. An optional real-time clock module is also available, which helps you facilitate time scheduling of operations. Plus, you do not need to replace your existing hardware if you want to upgrade your system software, since this device comes with a flash upgradable operating system.
