Superb & versatile personal pocket-sized amp.
I have been very excited with this wee amplifier. It plugs directly into the bass' output jack. There are dial-controlled volume and tone controls which work perfectly and provide well-designed volume and tone sweeps The sound has 3 press-button activated gain levels, and a small colored light which changes color to show which is switched on. Two options, with orange or red colors in the single lamp, are quite low in volume (too low I think) but the third, when the green light is on is excellent, potent with a bit of growl - think Jack Casady, I say! There is an output jack for headphones - plenty of volume available - and an input jack to run, for example, an iPad into the Vox. So, you can privately play along with any music you have stored on an iPad! Powered by 2 AAA batteries, which ... I have been very excited with this wee amplifier. A beginner can buy a bass, use this amp without even needing to purchase a guitar cable, and be ready to begin. The "headphone" output can be plugged into an amplifier's auxiliary socket (my small Ampeg amps are wired to "center" a stereo input signal) or a home sound system using a mini-plug- to- 1/4" stereo converter jack and perhaps a mini-plug-ended extension cable, sold everywhere in various lengths. So one could practice and have the combined sound of iPad and one's instrument sent to an amp. You can overwhelm the Vox and make it bark by too much input volume from your bass or by suddenly too-hard pick strikes, but if you moderate that a little it is fine. Superb device!

On paper it seems like a great idea. Unfortunately, in practice, using high quality studio headphones, the instrument circuit not only is very noisy (lots of high frequency hiss), it is not capable of amplifying any frequency below about 200 Hz. Unfortunately, this removes the bass fundamental and first harmonic, which makes a bass sound like an AM radio. No amount of gain or tone adjustments will correct the problem. On a positive note, the drum rhythm circuit works!On paper it seems like a great idea. Nice Little gadget
Before this one i owned a similar type chinese amp, wich worked untill one day didn´t, the Vox is more expensive but the quality and features you get are far betther than the cheap one. The tone is very good and have more options, the built inn rithm machine is also a nice feature.

Great practice tool
this is a great device, i use every day and now i practice more than what i used to, just plug it, turn it on and go, every feature is useful and it covers everything you might need, aux in for backing tracks, built in click and beats on different measures, nice tone, i recommend pairing with rechargeable batteries since they only last a few days if used a lot, the plastic could have been of better grade/quality since it looks cheap but it really works great.this is a great device, i use every day and now i practice more than what i used to, just plug it, turn it on and go, every feature is useful and it covers everything you might need, aux in for backing tracks, built in click and beats on different measures, nice tone, i recommend pairing with rechargeable batteries since they only last a few days if used a lot, the plastic could have been of better grade/quality since it looks cheap but it really works great.

Great Product for Practice
Great way to practice without disturbing those around you. My only complaint is that it doesn't fit super snugly into the pickup on the guitar, so gravity spins it so the heaviest side is down. Doesn't really impair use, just slightly annoying. You need to plug in both your phone and your earbuds/headphones to the amp, so that means using a dongle for Apple products. I have Samsung earbuds and an iPhone, so I only have to use one. I haven't used all the features yet since I'm just a beginner guitar player, but I would guess they come in handy.Great way to practice without disturbing those around you.
