This TENS is affordable to purchase at $35 but the gelpad refills at $15 for two pair is a bit high. They last for 3-4 applications if you're careful. Maybe there's another more affordable source that would work? Something generic? I go through a pair of AAA batteries after about four 30-minute cycles. I guess that's to be expected with such a high output device. I tried some rechargeable Li-Ion batteries but their performance was much less...maybe one full-power application. Overall 4 Stars would be 5 Stars with the ability to use less expensive, generic pads.

The unit seems to work well, and it gets decent battery life, but the gel pads barely make it to three uses per pair. 4 pads are $20-30 and they are not available in quantity for a discount. That makes this unit extremely expensive to operate over a 1 year period.

For temporary relief through the recovery of recurring muscle spasms, this is the best I have found short of an expensive 10s unit. The price is well worth it. I had to call tech support over my confusion regarding battery life, and the help was immediate and resolved my issue. I do recommend this for anyone who suffers from muscle spasms!

I bought mine two years ago at WalMart and this is the second time I wanted refills! This time, WalMart no longer carried the Direct Therapy unit or the refills! I’m happy I found them on eBay. Thank you!’
