It does a really good job picking up dirt out of my carpets the only negative is I wish the cord was slightly longer. I have only had it one week , so we will see what the future holds!

HEAVY
Very heavy trying to carry up and down stairs is a workout, also very very heavy when trying to hold with 1 hand to reach higher places while using extensions. Also, when it's on for bare floors it does not sweep as good, for high carpet forget it, it puts up a fight. When it's on a flat carpet does work well but that's the only thing, I find out of this vac is on low carpet.

Dead at 7 months! - and WE pay for replacement!
Bought [NEW] in December 2018. Dead in July 2019 - started making a foul smell and roller spinning erratic. 2 year warranty, but it's "limited" - WE have to pay to ship it to them before they'll replace it (I guess no repair centers in Texas). Shipping is over $50 (regular price), but luckily I'd found LugLess when we'd moved (only $28). Still, if the replacement breaks again in the next 16 months, we won't be sending it in again - we just WON'T BUY A HOOVER again. If it's defective, they should stand behind it and cover the full cost of replacement. We've had other vacuums last MANY YEARS. Also (like another reviewer), have found that the hose roller falls off the holder often, and it's very heavy. Definitely wouldn't buy again...Bought [NEW] in December 2018. Good vacuum and good price!
This vacuum is very easy to put to toghter and is very easy to use and goodness you will be surprised how good it does work! The vacuum picks up from the very bottom of the carpet and doesn't miss picking up any loose dirt and picks up anything on the carpet. Wish I could post pictures of what it does pick but but it is a good vacuum for a good proce

Just roll up the cord and hang it on the handle
The first day of use the cord would not Rewind. I looked inside and all the plastic pieces for the rewind are just flooping around in there. What can you do -Its all Plastic??
