About this product

Product Information

Dragon's Lair Deluxe Pack is a compilation of three games previously released in several software formats. This particular pack offers PC CD-ROM play only and consists of two Dragon's Lair and one Space Ace interactive animated games. All the games were originally designed and animated by Don Bluth.

Gameplay in all three games relies on split second timing by the player as he or she tries to guide their onscreen alter ego through the adventures. The interface requires that only a few keys be used as the player has no direct control over the actual movement of the character. Movement is simply a matter of pressing the right key at the exact moment required by the program in order for the story and character to continue advancing.

In Dragon's Lair, originally released in Arcade form in 1983, Dirk the Daring, a valiant knight, must rescue a helpless princess from the clutches of an evil dragon named Singe. To do so, Dirk must fight his way through and under a castle that has been filled with monsters and obstacles through a sinister enchantment by a dark wizard.

Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp builds its story around a similar theme but this time the princess has been imprisoned in a wrinkle of time by the evil wizard Mordroc. Dirk the Daring must once again brave the fierce and deadly monsters and traps set for him by the wizard. It's a race against time, as once the Casket of Doom has been opened, Princess Daphne will be forced to marry Mordroc and be lost forever.

The third and final game of the trio is Space Ace where once again the hero must save the damsel in distress. This time the insidious Commander Borf has kidnapped Ace's girlfriend and dragged her to his space station. While committing the dastardly deed, he stuns Ace with his Infanto Ray, a vile weapon that turns people into babies. Fortunately, Ace is only reduced to kid-size and not a helpless infant. During these times, Ace becomes Dexter and can "energize" himself back into Ace at propitious times within the adventure.

Ace must track down his girl and defeat Commander Borf before he has a chance to take over the Earth by reducing the entire population to babbling babies. Armed only with a laser gun, Ace puts his life on the line repeatedly to rescue his girlfriend Kimberly.

Can you help guide this pair of superheroes, Dirk and Ace, to victory over the evil and dastardly villains? Only good "timing" will tell.

  • Double check compatibility before making a purchase.

This disc set is designed for Windows 95/98. I'm using Windows 7 Home Professional. I make it past the first two levels and the screen goes black. I'm currently looking for a fix. I don't want to jump and blame it on the disc. This takes me back to 1983 when I was 17 and playing it on the arcade machine. No matter what, I will get this game to play.

  • A good old Game

This an older game. I bought it because I use to play it quiet a bit on an old computor. I have a new lap top with Windows 7 and it is suppose to make old games work. So I bought this to try it out. I got it to work with Windows7 and this is a windows 95 format. The old jumps fight and adventure is still what make this a fun game to play. It is very simple compared to the new games. I like to go back and play an easy game once in a while just fun of it. I would recomend it to anyone just starting out playing adventure games.
