Good transaction/price. Not sure about results. On rainwater w/ 0KH/GH but regularly add AG lime/epsom which should show. First time KH read at 4drops, GH at 1drop, but ever since both have been reading in at 1drop so purchased a water test strip which confirmed 0GH, but showed KH at around 80ppm which makes me wonder about the KH result. Granted my aquarium is HEAVILY planted which explains the 0GH due to Ca/Mg consumption, but CO3 in AG lime should be showing a build up of KH which it is not?

    Reliable Test of KH & GH

    Easy to use test to stay on top of aquarium KH and GH levels. Fill the test tube to the level mark with aquarium water and add the solution drop by drop until the desired color change occurs. It is pretty easy to see the color change against a white background. The hardest part is filling the test tube to the line. I use a straw to lift water from a small cup of aquarium water - much easier to control it that way.

    very complicated to use .

    I have had aquariums all my life , used many tester kits in the past, I do not like this one , too difficult to use , counting drops and then if the color is not correct adding more drops ? I never get any results , took a water sample to pet smart and tested and all was good, could not get results from this testing kit. my suggestion , do not buy this kit.

    Great kit even for other use.

    I actually got this kit, not for aquarium use, but for checking the GH (general hardness) for setting up a water softener. I had an issue with mine running out of soft water. This lets me check to make sure everything is set right and working correctly. Very accurate and precise measurement, since it uses a chemical & dropper to check with. Accuracy you'll never get with a test strip. I can't comment on the carbonate part with this kit, since I don't need it. Highly recommended.

    Very useful not only for aquarium

    I was able to check the hardness of the water in the faucet and after the filter Brita. Very useful to know this parameter for watering flowers and taking care of a washing machine and dishwasher
