Good product but room for improvement
Good gadget to have when using a smart TV. I have a 82" Samsung smart TV and I sit far away from it. This mini wireless keyboard connected no problem. Touchpad works great. Buttons light up so I can see in the dark, this is a great feature to have. Have not experienced any glitches or sudden drop outs or anything. The only thing that need improving is that some of the buttons don't match up to what it's meant to do. For example, the volume buttons on the keyboard doesn't do anything, you need to use F9 and F10 to increase or decrease volume. They need to better syn the buttons to the TV. But there are so many TV brands, I understand it's hard sync perfectly with every one. That's why 4 stars. The unit works and is ergonomically well designed.
The unit functions as described and is priced competitively. However, the unit goes off line flashing yellow after being fully charged. I move closer to the dongle and the blue light comes on but continually goes to yellow at which time the mouse does not respond. I have learned to adjust where the location and can get the responses I need.

RII Mini i8+ Is A Winner!!!
Right out of the box, pop the receiver out of the back and plugged it in my MiBox. Flip the on switch on top of the remote and it IMMEDIATELY paired. This has everything I was looking for and more! Not only does it have the regular directional controls on the top right, but the top left of the controller works as a media control. Volume up and down is essential when not wanting to switch between two remotes, and a dedicated play/pause plus rewind and FF make it super easy to use. The middle touchpad works great. As soon as you drag a finger around, a mouse appears on my screen and can be used similar to a computer. One touch is a mouse click. The keyboard works as advertised, makes searching Netflix, Hulu, and Sling a breeze, and the backlight settings have been awesome for ... The unit is completely textured with a smooth rubber like that found of a rubberized computer mouse. This device has no problem connecting on the smart tv, smart bluray player and game console I tested it on! I only wish the description on the official Rii site and merchandisers would state what kind of material texture this was! This particular brand is the best of the bunch. It works with all operating systems I care about and the battery life is very good.
