      an excellent solution

      having worked with full size TV cameras most of my life, I was challenged how to now use one of the smaller pro cameras on my full size pro tripod/head. This unit allows me to have a solid, easy access mount on the tripod and the plate mount for the camera is the right size/fit with the correct hardware (both a 1/4 & 3/8 screw come with) using an additional screw on the plate allows for greater stability.       This is surprisingly well made, and worth having in your kit bag. I find it handy for use as a compact "tripod" on a table or shelf. It can also be attached to a tripod or monopod to add some extra angle options. Build quality is quite good, and has enough stiffness to support a full size DSLR with most lenses. At some point a big camera with long lens will be top heavy, but otherwise this is good to have on hand.

      Compatible with Manfrotto video plate. Best part is plate locking screw is position free, so you can pull the screw handle and change final lock down position. My tripod head hits screw handle without this feature.
