June Allyson (THE GLENN MILLER STORY, THE STRATTON STORY) stars as Jo, the tomboy bookworm. Margaret O'Brien plays the selfless and tragic Beth. Elizabeth Taylor, in a perfect casting choice, plays the artistic Amy, and beautiful Janet Leigh (TOUCH OF EVIL, PSYCHO) takes on the role of responsible Meg. All of these stars turn in fine performances under the experienced coaching of director Mervyn LeRoy (MADAME CURIE, WATERLOO BRIDGE).

    Keeps me riveted to my TV screen from beginning to end

    What more can I say? This collection of episodes is from the classic 1950's TV series "The Adventures of Superman," which starred George Reeves, and which I'm sure we all remember by its classic introductory/opening spiel: "Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's ... SUPERMAN!" All three episodes on this tape are stellar, with my personal favorite being the black-and-white classic "Crime Wave." It's cool seeing the Man Of Steel pitted against the leading crime lords of Metropolis, and a bit of a surprise at the end when Superman turns in Metropolis' then-number-one lord of crime to the Metropolis police, and that crime lord turns out to be someone whom I believe a lot ...
