    Fun From Television's Golden Age

    Ever since I read the collected Milt Caniff "Terry & The Pirates", I've been a fan of Terry Lee, Burma, the Dragon Lady & their adventures in warlord-dominated, & later war-torn, China. This 1952 show, updated from the original 1930s & '40s strips with Terry as an adult pilot for Air Cathay, has a lot of the heart & soul of the original strips. Each half hour of this single season series is a single adventure. Often these involve the alluring Dragon Lady who seems to have her fingers in just about every illicit dealing in China. Newer characters that Terry met during & after the war are also part including his co-pilot (& comedic element) Charles C. Charles as well as the proprietor of Air Cathay, the jive-talking Chopstick Charlie (who ...

    Old TV memories revisited.

    I was very young when this series came out. But it was fun to watch it again. Plots and acting still not bad for the vintage series. Good to see it again and glad it was not lost to future viewers. T.S.
