CHANGED THE REVIEW: Unfortunately, after only one project, the handle and the blade holder are no longer holding the scraper blade securely. The pin that holds the blade will not come out far enough to install the blade unless I pull it out with pliers. And then it will not retract to hold the blade securely unless I whack it with a hammer. My first experience with a heat gun has been a learning one. A very old, weather checked, ornate front porch is my project. The job would be absolutely impossible without Hyde's contour paint scraper kit. It fits my hand well, not too long, too short, or too heavy. Very sharp quality blades that are easily interchangeable. Quality tool...wish I had known about prior to my slow start. I did not see anything like it in any of the box stores I had shopped. Not just a time saver. I would never even got a good start with the tool. Great value in a really useful tool
The tool itself is identical to the Richards round profile scraper, meaning that if you have that handle, all of these blades are compatible. Makes short work out of complicated Victorian mouldings, and well worth the money. The blades are razor sharp, and easily re-sharpened with flat and curved sharpening stones. Highly recommended.
