Hilarious...Yes, We Are Talking About Electronics

I know....I know...you would not think the terms "hilarious" and "electronics" go together. However, when it comes to this book: they do! Yet, do not think that this levity means no real lessons in the field of electronics. No, no, no. The authors have skillfully and artfully worked into one volume a master blend of electronics lessons with just enough humor to keep you wanting more. You cannot wait to read each page (and learn whilst so reading). I recommend this book.

    • Dummies Will Keep You From Shorting Out

If you've never picked up a soldering iron, or don't even know how to put batteries in a flashlight, worry not: Electronics for Dummies will fill you in quickly on how to get along creatvely with your friend and mine, the electron. You'll get clear, non-drowsy explanations of what resistors, capacitors, and diodes are, how transistors work, and how you can actually get them to work and play well together without giving you a nasty shock, burning down your house, or just sitting there doing absolutely nothing when you flip the switch on your first project. Tips on safety are prominent throughout the book. Before you're done, you might be tackling one or more of the projects available toward the back of the book, such as a motion detector, mini amplifier -- even a robot! (Not exactly a ...

    • Electronics in an easy to understand book? None better than this one.

This is the text that I recommend you go to if you are new to electronics, and I am, for the most part. This book is written so that it is easy to understand and use. It teaches basic electronics in simple to understand format, teaches what tools will be needed, what parts and supplies to stock, ins and outs of soldering, test equipment needed and just about everything that you could imagine, and then some. I would have been lost without it. Too much to list here. If you are interested in the ins and outs of basic electronics, want to build a few items, then this is the book that you need. I have a few classroom texts on electronics, but this book is so much easier.
