As described, fast shipping. Hat is heavily varnished straw and looked plastic but using blow dryer caused the varnish to take the shape of straw and looked much better. Also use heat to shape the hat so you don't break the straw. Varnish hardly breaths at all but hat does seem to repel water which might be a good trade off since there is abundant venting. Cloth headband seems to be absorbent with a sweat resistant backing. Not my favorite hat but decent for the money.
