About this product

Product Information

The New York Times bestselling author cooks up a knockout treat featuring the irrepressible caterer Goldy Schulz "I tripped over the body of Dusty Routt at half past ten on the night of October 19. . . ." Goldy Schulz has a lucrative new gig, preparing breakfasts and conference-room snacks for a local law firm. It's time-consuming, but Goldy is enjoying it -- until the night she arrives to find Dusty, the firm's paralegal, dead. The poor young woman also happened to be Goldy's friend and neighbor, and now Dusty's grieving mother begs Goldy to find out who murdered her daughter.Just because the police are on the case doesn't mean Goldy can't do a little snooping herself. While catering a party at the home of one of the firm's lawyers, she manages to overhear an incriminating conversation and ends up discovering a few clues in the kitchen. Before long, Goldy is knee-deep in suspects, one of whom is incredibly dangerous and very liable to cook Goldy's goose.

  • Dark Tort HARDCOVER

Dark Tort was not nearly as good as the previous books, but it was still a good read. It seemed she was stuck on the grieving theme and it got a little old after a while. Yes, we know how much she cared for the character that was killed and it was stated in many ways, but in a mystery book the heroine needs to move on, unlike real life. She use to talk more about her cooking and catering but unlike her other books it took a backseat. In fact...was I wrong to believe that there was no catered cooking involved or did I miss something? Definitely more sleuthing in this book. The book seemed to go from her normal lighter cozies into one with more meat, but I do miss the old Goldy. As for Arch, her son, he needs a swift kick in the behind. I liked him a few books back when he was actually ...

  • Delicious, but missing something

I've been reading all Diane Mott Davidson's Goldie Mysteries since the beginning. Something about them, the combination of person, place, food, etc was just right. This one was an exception. Now, I never guess, or even try to guess, at who done it. Sometimes it seem obvious, this one was a surpise to me. But like the story line, something was missing. What ever, the recipe seemed to be missing some essential ingredient to make it a better story. Still, like all Goldie's stories, all was good in the end.

  • A Fun Read

The story regarding Goldy Schulz is interesting and very enjoyable. She has quite a way about her that makes people want to trust her. The recipes are good, and almost makes me want to start cooking something a little more complicated than I usually do. I like her interaction with her wonderful husband and son, and in this book she has Julian there to help her with more than just the cooking. A very good, well balanced book.

  • Dark Tort by Diane Mott Davidson

I have read this Author often. I like her style and her creativeness. Once you start to read the book. You will not put it down. All of her books go beyond just a good book.
